Instructions to Reach The Courtyard Cottage at Fogo Mains  

From Edinburgh

1. Dalkeith
2. A68 signed Jedburgh and Coldstream
3. Through Pathhead and over Soutra
4. At Carfraemill, 3.5 miles after beginning the descent from Soutra turn left onto A697 signed Coldstream and Newcastle (A1).
5. After 15 miles go through Greenlaw. A mile or so further on turn left where signed B6460 Berwick.
6. Follow this road, turn round an S bend with a Lodge in the middle. Immediately beyond this bend turn left at small crossroads where signed Fogo then after 20 yds turn right also signed Fogo.
7. Go straight through Fogo village. After a quarter of mile come to a white painted cottage, Hawthorn Cottage, on the right. Fogo Mains entrance is beyond the cottage, on the right, just before large green shed.
8. Follow drive to the right and Courtyard Cottage is beyond the main house, behind the trees to the left.    

From A1

1. A1 Berwick bypass
2. Take B6461 signed Paxton, Kelso
3. After 2 miles take B6460 signed Paxton, Greenlaw A697.
4. After 10 miles come to red roofed farm buildings on both sides of the road. Immediately beyond these at a line of cottages on the right turn right. Signed Fogo.
5. After 1 mile at large green shed on left turn into the entrance to Fogo Mains.

From M6

1. Take A7 at junction 44
2. Continue on A7 through Langholm to Hawick
3. Through Hawick centre, turn right at Horse monument onto A698 for Kelso
4. At junction with A68 turn left signposted for Edinburgh.
5. Continue to Earlston where turn right onto A6105 through Gordon to Greenlaw
6. At Greenlaw turn right onto A697
